Well something like this C8 Aileron, being held together with Duct tape. More photo’s at the link. Broken Spyker looks sad.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

As for the company itself, it is currently registered in a small office above a Hairdresser. However this office is empty according to the people there, so probably Spyker doesn’t have any employees anymore, nor any cars since they don’t have any garage space at the office. Although they are presenting the Spyker C8 Preliator, of which they released this teaser, in Geneva. So maybe they just don’t want people to know where they are located or something, so they can work in silence.

Kinja'd!!!

Spyker boss Victor Muller, is claiming to be cooperating with Volta Voltare, which is a company building an electric airplane with a range extender, which has yet to build a real plane. So this probably is one of Victor Muller’s plans to save Spyker, and most of the previous attempts failed, including the one of saving Saab. So on the one hand I’m hoping this one works out, but on the other hand I think it maybe would be better for Spyker history that it stops now, and someone else tries again in say 20 years.

This makes me sad, I do have the pleasure of living near a Donkervoort dealership though. Offtopic: Is there any good place to work on your own car in The Netherlands? I’m curious, as I am ok at wrenching and I don’t have a garage. It’d be nice to be able to do my own maintenance again.

It's too bad. I'd rather have a spyker than most exotics. First it's actually rare, second that shifter.

Well, have you ever looked into ‘Doe het zelf garages’? This is a list http://www.carblogger.nl/auto-onderhoud… Furthermore maybe you can join some kind of wrenching club like duurtlang did http://oppositelock.kinja.com/something-i-di… but that depends if something like that is available near you.

I wonder what the story is behind the duct tape Spyker. Preliator is an awful name. Evokes images like predator liger, liar, radiator, terminator, celiac disease etc. I’d be embarrassed to say preliator out loud if I drove one.

Yeah, I guess I would just call it a C8, on the website where I found the photo’s there is a comment stating:

I know the owner of the rent a car where this car is from. Saw it some weeks ago when Victor Muller (CEO of Spyker) was driving. And my friend told me was Victor whou would leave the car like this... Very sad to see it in this state

But I don’t know if he means that Victor Muller crashed it, or that Muller just refuses to repair it, due to the English being a bit vague.

I bet they’d get a fight from the bowtie brass if they used C8. Maybe the owner can’t afford to fix it or can’t because of Spyker’s bankruptcy / not bankruptcy.

Oh good, there’s one in Lelystad! I actually have been looking for one but I don’t speak dutch yet, so certain things elude me.

Good luck trying to learn it, I have been told it should be quite easy to get the basics depending on your mother language. However as someone who has it as his mother language I still sometimes am confused by some of the smaller and less common rules, but I don’t want to scare you haha.

I know how to order a kaassouffle and I can generally fumble around with dutch words to convey what I want. I’m originally from the states, it’s a tough language but I literally need to learn.

It’s latin for fighter. It sounds “ok” to me, but not the best name for a car.

Did not know that, thanks. Apparently an alt spelling is proeliator, so I guess we know what their souped up version will be called... har har.

Lol! A Lacrosse team is even named Proeliator. Sounds pretty serious (not).

Pretty sure it’s ED medicine.

Ha, the little store kind, not the prescription stuff.

Actually now that I think about it a lot of cars are ED medicine. Remember that not very subtle viagra commercial where the guy’s ‘69 Camaro breaks down?
